At Stoneleigh, we believe that beautiful things can happen when we let nature take its course. It’s why we let sunstones from an ancient riverbed naturally ripen our vines, bringing richer, more vibrant flavours to our grapes.

It’s why we dedicate over 115 hectares to biodiversity and regenerative projects. It’s why we proudly support the native falcon, and let local beekeepers keep their hives in our vineyards. It’s also why we use 100% sustainably sourced grapes and absolutely no animal products from grape to bottle*.

Because we believe that getting back to nature means giving back to nature. Situated within the Rapaura sub-region, Stoneleigh vineyards are studded with precious stones. Once the bed of an ancient river, today they form the floor of our vineyard. We call them sunstones.

During the day, the sunstones reflect the brilliant Marlborough sunshine up into the vines and grapes. These sunstones capture heat throughout the day and release it on to the vines to help develop rich unique flavours for the wine, often with tropical aromas.
