OUR SUSTAINABILITY JOURNEY

At Stoneleigh, we believe that beautiful things happen when we let nature take its course. That's why we allow sunstones from an ancient riverbed to naturally ripen our vines, infusing our grapes with richer, more vibrant flavours.

Our business relies on nature. As winemakers, sustainably managing our vineyards, encouraging healthy soils through biodiversity preservation, and regenerative agriculture are critical to the health of our vines. Beyond building resilience to climate change in our soils, we are exploring ways to reduce our carbon footprint, invest in renewables, minimise our operational footprint, and develop sustainable packaging.

That's why we dedicate over 25 hectares to biodiversity and 60 hectares to regenerative vineyard projects. It’s why we proudly support the native falcon and allow local beekeepers to maintain their hives in our vineyards. It’s also why we use 100% sustainably sourced grapes and absolutely no animal products from grape to bottle*.

We believe that getting back to nature means giving back to nature. And when it comes to giving back, every action counts – whether you’re planting a seed or creating an entire wetland ecosystem. At the end of the day – and the start of the next – what’s good for nature is good for us.

*Except for Stoneleigh Sparkling wine.

OUR UNIQUE TASTE

Situated within the Rapaura sub-region, Stoneleigh vineyards are studded with precious stones. Once the bed of an ancient river, today they form the floor of our vineyard. We call them sunstones..

During the day, the sunstones reflect the brilliant Marlborough sunshine up into the vines and grapes. These sunstones capture heat throughout the day and release it on to the vines to help develop rich unique flavours for the wine, often with tropical aromas.
